Academic and Research excellence towards

Sustainable Development


Introduction: In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST), a Presidents’ Forum will be organized under a theme of “Academic and Research Excellence towards Sustainable Development”. As the role of universities in the current industrial era, “the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, is constantly growing, we hope to not only acknowledge our successful collaboration but to gather past experiences and new perspectives on academic and research excellence for the sustainable development of each of our organizations.

Objectives: The President’s Forum aims to bring together Presidents/Rectors of leading partner universities to exchange and share their experiences, the most recent academic and research innovations, trends and concerns as well as challenges encountered, and solutions adopted in the field of the higher education arena. We further hope to construct options for the exchange of globalized knowledge, enhance collaborative pathways for the future, and develop justified policies for sustainable development.

The Forum will include two-panel discussions each lasting for 1.5 hours.

  1. Academic Excellence Panel: Presidents will discuss the rigor and relevance of academic settings and learning environments of the current and future nature of work, technological advances of knowledge economy, and fourth industrial revolution.
  2. Research Excellence Panel: Presidents will debate on ways to reinforce the positive and long-term impact of university research on society with a special focus on potential areas of joint research and graduate studies.

The Forum will be followed by individual meetings and an optional field excursion/cultural event.

Participants: Presidents of foreign and domestic universities and research organizations with active collaboration with MUST; scientists; representatives of government agencies and private companies.
